Slip Disc Treatment in Gurgaon
A slip disc, also called a herniated or prolapsed disc, means part of the cushion between two spinal bones has pushed out and may press a nerve. In the lower back this often causes back pain and pain down one leg. In the neck it can cause neck pain and pain down one arm.

Treatment usually starts without surgery
Many slip discs settle with a short period of relative rest, pain relief, and physiotherapy.
Surgery is considered when pain stays severe, when there is clear weakness, or when there are emergency signs.
If an operation is advised
An operation aims to free the pressed nerve. How much the pain settles varies from person to person.
Minimally invasive or endoscopic techniques are used for selected disc problems when the disc fragment and the anatomy suit them. They are not the right route for every slip disc. If the spine also needs to be stabilised, a fusion with implants may be required. Ask which method is being suggested for your MRI, and why.
Emergency signs
New weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness in the private area, a seizure, or increasing drowsiness after an injury is an emergency. Go to the nearest hospital emergency department; the OPD is for planned reviews.
